The Emmy nominated UK dramatisation of J.M.Coetzee's novel explores the divisive theme of animal rights. Contrasting a series of talks given by an aeging novelist and vegetarian mother, the story is told through the eyes of her meat eating son. Abstracted macro stills of dead and packaged meat set a subtle but disturbing tone for the film.
